We had the pleasure of hosting the ISU Food Adventure camp this week. We focused on poultry (chickens, ducks, and everyone's favorite CousCous the Goose Goose!).
These 21 campers were able to learn about the difference between chickens and ducks, including their egg differences. They were able to id the basic anatomy of a chicken and discuss care for chickens. We also discussed how we use our chicken waste to make compost used in our garden beds.
This crew were real troupers, the stayed upbeat even though the heat and humidity was intense, and they were even lucky enough to raid the black raspberry patch!
